100 Word Challenge

Prompt: ‘...we seemed to be on the television…’
Title: Cheese!
The crowds roared in the stands, the hot pies steamed and the rain poured down as the football teams paraded out onto the field. I stared at the blue and white team shirts, wishing to be in one. Dad nudged me in the shoulder and pointed to the big screen. We seemed to be on the television but it was hard to tell through all the rain.
The first whistle blew and the game was on! I took a big bite of my steaming pie. Mmmm. Mince and cheese, my favourite. Dad held his phone up in the air, flipping the camera around to face us.
“Say cheese!”

100 Word Challenge

Prompt: Bricks, Gorilla, Yellow, Running, Pretty
Title: Escaped

I lie in my bed, the sounds of night coming through the open window. Chirping crickets, buzzing cicadas and the occasional hoot from the owl that has taken residence in the tree. I pull my pretty yellow duvet up to my nose and stare at the my dollhouse made of small bricks which was a present from Mum. As if that could make up for walking out. As I was drifting off to sleep I think of the news that I’d watched with Dad earlier that night. One of the gorillas had escaped from the town zoo and was running free around town.

I feel like I could make this into a really cool story so if you want more comment down below and tell me what you think should happen! 😃😃😃😃😉😉😉😉

100 Word Challenge

Prompt: ‘...I wondered what was behind the door…’
Title: The Haunted House

The floorboards creaked beneath my weight, doors creaked open and spiderwebs hung from the walls. I shuffled along the corridor with my best friend Ellie trailing behind.
“Charlotte I think we should turn back. Take the emergency exit maybe…” she whispered. We approached the end of the hallway and saw a door, illuminated by a green light. I wondered what was behind the door. Maybe a zombie? It had to be something to scare the wits out of me.
I opened the door carefully, peeking around the corner. Sitting on a pole was a gem, shiny and beautiful. Gliding towards it, as if in a trance was… it couldn’t be… it wasn’t possible...
A GHOST!!!
I sprinted out the door, grabbing Ellie’s hand on the way. Down the corridor, through reception and out onto the street. I had had enough of Haunted Houses for a long, long time.
