100 Word Challenge

Prompt: ‘...we seemed to be on the television…’
Title: Cheese!
The crowds roared in the stands, the hot pies steamed and the rain poured down as the football teams paraded out onto the field. I stared at the blue and white team shirts, wishing to be in one. Dad nudged me in the shoulder and pointed to the big screen. We seemed to be on the television but it was hard to tell through all the rain.
The first whistle blew and the game was on! I took a big bite of my steaming pie. Mmmm. Mince and cheese, my favourite. Dad held his phone up in the air, flipping the camera around to face us.
“Say cheese!”

100 Word Challenge

Prompt: Bricks, Gorilla, Yellow, Running, Pretty
Title: Escaped

I lie in my bed, the sounds of night coming through the open window. Chirping crickets, buzzing cicadas and the occasional hoot from the owl that has taken residence in the tree. I pull my pretty yellow duvet up to my nose and stare at the my dollhouse made of small bricks which was a present from Mum. As if that could make up for walking out. As I was drifting off to sleep I think of the news that I’d watched with Dad earlier that night. One of the gorillas had escaped from the town zoo and was running free around town.

I feel like I could make this into a really cool story so if you want more comment down below and tell me what you think should happen! 😃😃😃😃😉😉😉😉

100 Word Challenge

Prompt: ‘...I wondered what was behind the door…’
Title: The Haunted House

The floorboards creaked beneath my weight, doors creaked open and spiderwebs hung from the walls. I shuffled along the corridor with my best friend Ellie trailing behind.
“Charlotte I think we should turn back. Take the emergency exit maybe…” she whispered. We approached the end of the hallway and saw a door, illuminated by a green light. I wondered what was behind the door. Maybe a zombie? It had to be something to scare the wits out of me.
I opened the door carefully, peeking around the corner. Sitting on a pole was a gem, shiny and beautiful. Gliding towards it, as if in a trance was… it couldn’t be… it wasn’t possible...
A GHOST!!!
I sprinted out the door, grabbing Ellie’s hand on the way. Down the corridor, through reception and out onto the street. I had had enough of Haunted Houses for a long, long time.

100 Word Challenge

Prompt: Bath, Orange, Fighter, Danced, Clumsily
Title: Peace At Last

I lay in the warm bubble bath, surrounded by quiet, candles flickering orange, red and yellow like a mini suns, giving the bathroom a dim glow. Glad to be out of the chaos of looking after my sibling, Tom.
“Evie!” yelled Tom. “Look at me!” I could hear him clumsily thumping around the bedroom, probably holding his plastic gun, pretending to be a brave fighter, like Dad was.
“EVIE!” He was getting really impatient. I reluctantly got out of the bath and opened the door. Tom danced around the bed beating his rifle like a drum. Ignoring him, I walked back to the bathroom and slipped back into the water. Peace at last.

100 Word Challenge

Prompt:
Title: Dedication 118 words
The barrel of the gun was pressing into my head, loaded and ready. “Hurry up!” the terrorist barked in my ear. He shoved me into a room with all the other hostages, the gun still on my forehead. Once I was inside he snatched the gun back and closed the door. Locking it behind him. Outside I heard a bang, a thump and the sound of bending metal. The door unlocked and opened. We all crowded in the corner. A young man poked his head through the door. “It’s okay.” he said. “He’s gone.”
10 years later the gun the man had used was made into a sculpture and was dedicated to the man that saved our lives.

100 Word Challenge

Prompt: ‘...however, she couldn’t believe what she had done…’
Title: Stolen
136 words

As Ava stood over the dead body with the bloody knife in her hand, she collapsed on the floor. Grace had ruined her life, why was she guilty? Grace was dead, she was free. However, she couldn’t believe what she had done. Dropping the knife Ava turned and fled, down the street, away from the body. On and on she ran, and at Grace’s house she ended up. Into her room Ava went and she grabbed what was rightfully hers. The thing Grace took that infuriated Ava so much that the only solution was to kill her. Now that she had what she needed, Ava sprinted back to her house, her safe haven. She opened her hand and lay the contents carefully on her desk. The only thing that mattered in her life. A blue paperclip.

“Yes! YES! The moon is almost full! I can feel it.” Yells the Sargent, even though he probably can’t as we are stuck in the pitch black shell…….
Of the durian. Legend says that when we have been inside here for 100 years the shell will open and we will take over the world!!! I see a slither of light, the Sargent was right! We pour continuously out of the fruit, and breathe in the fresh air. Landing softly on this green substance we march onwards to take over. Thud! Ten of the troops collapse on the ground. Then another, and another. I spin around only to realise the killer can’t be stopped. He is legendary, he is….

THE RAIN.

Reflective Questions

Question #6:
'What lessons were learned from failure today?'
Today in French I failed to understand what a word meant and therefore got the context of the word wrong. I now understand what it means and I do see where I went wrong.

Question #3:
'Where did you encounter difficulties today?'
I encountered a difficulty carrying all my books to the library. I had a big pile and most of them were heavy. This resulted in books ending up on the floor. Thankfully Ellena helped me to carry them into the library. Next time I think I will bring in a bag/suitcase. It will make it much easier.

Here is a picture of pusheen to lift your spirits. Because this most was admittedly boring!!!!

100 Word Challenge

Hi guys,
This is just another 100 word challenge.

Promt: ‘Can you invent a magical animal that could live in one of these magical places and tell us all about them?’

Pitter! Patter! Pitter! Patter! That’s the sound that the most terrifying animal in the desert makes. Creatures scatter left and right to make way for this monster. It has spots on its back, claws at the fingertips, and razor sharp teeth inside his mouth. Poison is spilling out of his mouth as he looks for his next victim for dinner. The animals try to hide but he is too quick, in a flash, the tiger is gone. Then the lion and the snake. And very soon the only thing left on the sand is the terrifying, poisonous, sharp-toothed, stuffed full……...lizard.

100 Word Challenge

Prompt: ‘...when did it arrive?...’

I sit impatiently on the couch waiting for my package to arrive. Ding! Dong! I rush towards the door as the mailman dumps the package. “Sign here, here and here. Yup. Thanks” And he’s gone. I drag the package into the living room where Dad is waiting. He looks up from his newspaper. “What ‘ave you got there ‘un?” he says. “When did it arrive?”
“Like, 30 seconds ago!” Is all I can say as I run to the kitchen to grab the scissors. I rummage through the drawers until I find them. Then I sprint back to the living room and open the tape. As I peer inside I realize. This is the wrong package.
